Change in Major

A change in students’ programs of study may significantly impact educational and career goals; therefore, students should discuss any anticipated program change with their academic advisor prior to initiation of the change process.

Students should be aware that credits earned in one program may not apply to a new program. Changing programs may lengthen the time required to complete a program.

Financial assistance programs have specific guidelines concerning changes of program.

Students who are receiving benefits under a financial assistance program (federal, state, or local student aid, veterans’ benefits, and WIA) should discuss the possible impact of a program change on their benefits with the Financial Aid Office and/or VA Office.

Students who wish to change their programs of study must initiate the process with the Office of Disability and Special Services in the Hartline Building. There is a $10 change of major fee for all non-college sanctioned changes.
