Academic Probation

During any semester of enrollment, students whose GPA is less than 2.0 (C) will be placed on academic probation. During any semester of enrollment, students with a GPA less than 2.0 (C) will be placed on academic probation for the following semester. "Academic Probation" will appear on the students’ transcripts. Students must achieve a GPA of 2.0 (C) or higher the next semester they are enrolled to be removed from academic probation. Failure to achieve a 2.0 or higher the next semester of enrollment will result in academic suspension. "Academic Suspension" will appear on the students’ transcripts.

NOTE: RECIPIENTS OF FINANCIAL AID MUST MEET ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS. REFER TO THE "FINANCIAL AID" SECTION OF THE CATALOG AND STUDENT HANDBOOK FOR SPECIFICS.

Students who have been academically suspended from the college the first time will be eligible to return after one semester. The College does not require additional admissions testing unless the applicant fails to meet minimum admissions standards for a particular program. Students who return after academic suspension will not be eligible for financial aid during the semester they return if Financial Aid suspension is in place. Readmitted students who do not achieve a minimum GPA of 2.0 (C) for the first semester of re-enrollment will again be placed on academic suspension.

Students who have been placed on Financial Aid suspension due to a cumulative GPA less than 2.0 (C) may remain on academic probation by achieving a GPA of 2.0 (C) each semester of enrollment but will not receive financial aid benefits.
