Academic Advisement
Columbus Technical College supports a comprehensive advisement system and considers it to be an integral part of the educational process by providing a continuing interaction between the academic advisors and the students in exploring life, career, and educational goals; selecting educational programs; and scheduling classes. Students should maintain communication with advisors throughout the period from admission to graduation. Students withdrawing from a course should discuss this decision with an advisor to ensure that they follow proper procedures and explore alternative solutions. Each semester, the Academic Advisement Center schedules special advisement periods to enable them to meet students’ needs. Academic advisement may also be accomplished with a designated program director or faculty member.
