This course is designed to provide an introduction to professional nursing, the nursing process, health promotion, maintenance and
restoration across the lifespan. The focus is on nursing history, nursing as a profession, roles of the associate degree nurse, social, cultural,
legal, and ethical implications, standards of nursing practice, cultural diversity, health care systems, medical terminology, health assessment ,
growth and development, asepsis, hygiene, safety, activity and exercise, oxygenation, urinary and bowel elimination, pain management,
nutrition, skin and wound care, and basic pharmacology
